With its upgrade of the new BMW 4-series Coupé, AC Schnitzer is again reaching for the “Tuning Crown“. The Aachen-based tuning company presents the world premiere of its own version of the sporting mid-range coupe at the Essen Motor Show from 30th November to 8th December 2013. The tuning specialist again impressively demonstrates how to transform a base model from BMW into royalty. From engine, through suspension, bodywork and wheel sets, to the interior: the BMW 4-series Coupé has been comprehensively refined.
In this royal class, BMW drivers can enjoy AC Schnitzer performance upgrades for the 420i (to 245 hp – export version), 428i (to 294 hp), 435i (to 360 hp), 420d (to 218 hp), 430d (to 309 hp) and 435d (to 360 hp). And of course, representative AC Schnitzer engine optics is included.
Even from a distance, the 4-series Coupé with the AC Schnitzer twin sports rear silencers of stainless steel clearly shows its superiority over the base model. The 2 chromed tailpipe trims in the brand new “Racing Evo“ and “Sport“ styles are available as both purely aesthetic styling highlights and as the “full stop” for the exhaust systems.
In the suspension, AC Schnitzer shows modest restraint, following the motto of “better fast than hard”, and lowers the 4-series Coupé by 25 mm compared with the base model. The AC Schnitzer suspension spring kit and the sports suspension contribute to better driving dynamics. The vehicle follows every minute steering input as if on rails, and inspires deep respect not only in its driver. The racing suspension, adjustable in both compression and rebound stages, with lowering by around 25 mm, makes driving fun an even more royal pleasure.
But its not only the royals who know the importance of outward appearances. So AC Schnitzer offers an extensive bodystyling package of chromed front grille (M-Technik vehicles), rear roof spoiler, rear spoiler and rear skirt protection foil. These elements not only enhance the 4-series Coupé but give it an aerodynamic performance on the road which is not restricted to just the top 10,000. The AC Schnitzer front spoiler and rear diffuser (M-Technik vehicles) further underpin the claim to the “Tuning throne“.
Inner values are also important to the nobility, so AC Schnitzer leaves nothing to be desired in the interior of the BMW 4-series Coupé. The gear knob comes with digital gear display, illuminated in leather or as a “Black Line“ aluminium gear knob. Sovereign styling is also provided by the AC Schnitzer “Black Line” aluminium handbrake handle, aluminium pedal set, AC Schnitzer foot rest, keyholder and velours foot mats.
AC Schnitzer wheel sets finally provide the perfect stance on the red carpet. Type VIII BiColor rims in black or silver, Type VIII forged alloys and forged racing rims in BiColor, Type IV rims in silver or BiColor black, and Type VI rims in BiColor – all with the appropriate tyres – give the 4-series Coupé the final touch and complete the transformation. High-carat design combined with sporting and innovative tuning elements: The BMW 4-series Coupé by AC Schnitzer is ready to take the crown at the Essen Motor Show.
