Dodge Viper GTS R710

2015 Dodge Viper GTS R710 Front AngleDownsizing? Hybrid drive? The Dodge Viper has nothing to do with such fashionable eco-drivel. Without a turbo or supercharger in sight, this old style US muscle car draws its might from a naturally aspirated 8.4-litre V10 motor on which its reputation was built.

Installed as far back as possible under the Viper’s long bonnet, this powerhouse motor boasts 649 hp and 814 Nm of torque. Apart from making the big rear tyres work hard for their living, this also calls for a driver with skill and responsibility.

US car veteran Karl Geiger and his GeigerCars.de team would not be where they are today if they were not able to also offer in-house performance and aero upgrades like this:

  • Power increase to 710 hp and 861 Nm
  • Carbon-fibre Aerodynamic kit
  • KW Variant 2 coil-over suspension

A modified airbox and bespoke exhaust system featuring tubular headers and sport catalysts helps the big motor to breathe more deeply. An ECU remap alters the fuel and ignition commensurately to use the extra air, enabling the engine to produce 710 hp at 6,100rpm, with 861 Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.

Given a perfect launch on grippy tarmac, the Geiger Cars.de Viper GTS 710R will catapult to 100km/h in just only 2.9 seconds, and continue accelerating strongly to its 341 km/h Vmax.

To keep the car tied to the ground, the engineers installed a KW Variant 2 coil-over suspension kit, which drops the ride height around 30 mm. This kit also features 16-step adjustable rebound control, maximising the grip of the 295/30ZR18 front and 355/30ZR19 rear tyres for road and track use.

The GeigerCars.de in-house carbon-fibre aerodynamic kit consists of a front spoiler lip, with matching rear spoiler and apron insert with diffuser. These lacquered carbon-fibre components look especially good when highlighted against a contrasting body colour.
