BMW UK is now offering a special M5 30 Jahre Edition model. It was created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the legendary performance saloon, which went into production back in 1984 as M535i (E12 model). The German manufacturer is going to produce 300 units of M5 30 Jahre Edition and only 30 of them will be provided for the UK market with pricing starting from £91,890 OTR.
The exterior boasts an Individual Frozen Dark Silver paint scheme with several dark chrome accents emphasising the unique style of the car. There is also a set of new 20” bi-color alloy wheels wrapped in 265/35 ZR20 front and 295/30 ZR20 rear performance tires.
Other special features include a full Merino leather and Alcantara interior as well as special badging and aluminum inserts. The door sill finishers have “30 Jahre M5” lettering, while a plaque with “1/300” inscription is integrated into the Dark Aluminium Trace interior trim. The “30 Jahre M5” logo can be found stitched into the backrests of all four of the high performance seats.
The 2014 BMW M5 30 Jahre Edition comes with a Harman/Kardon premium surround-sound system including 16 speakers as standard. There is also an impressive 1,200-watt Bang & Olufsen Advanced audio system available upon request. Other interesting standard features include Adaptive LED Headlights, Comfort Access with smart opener, Driving Assistant, lumbar support and split folding rear seats with additional 12 volt power sockets.
The engine of the M5 30 Jahre Edition is the well-known 4.4 litre twin-turbocharged V8 – 600hp (441 kW) and 700Nm (516 lb-ft) – an increase of 40hp and 20Nm. It is connected to the dual-clutch 7-speed DCT gearbox. 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) or 305 km/h (190 mph) with the optional M Driver’s Package.
