McLaren MSO 650S Coupe Concept

McLaren MSO 650S Coupe Concept is going on tour in China, where at the same time it is making its official debut. The car has been developed by McLaren Special Operations (MSO). The latter has created bespoke upgrades for it, thus making it with enhanced aerodynamic performance and more muscular visual presence. The range of the new styling options is available for the McLaren 650S Coupe and 650S Spider as well as 12C models.

This concept features an array of bespoke MSO features. The major highlight here is the newly designed carbon fibre rear diffuser and MSO-branded carbon fibre side blades. In addition, the car has a stealth-like appearance due to the upgrades made to the exterior bodywork and within the driver-focused cabin.

“Agrigan Black” paint finish has been used for the exterior. This special paint is in metallic black and features a deep ruby red metallic flake. This paint effect perfectly contrasts with the satin-finished carbon fibre elements.

In fact, from carbon fiber were made the front splitter and air intakes, side blades and the MSO ear diffuser. The side blades are more aggressive, full length interpretation of the door blades. They also offer improvements to the airflow along the edges of the bodywork.

At the rear, a GT3-inspired rear bumper is positioned. Its centre section is made of carbon fiber. This latter carries through to the carbon fibre airbrake and unique MSO rear diffuser.

The engine bay has been further improved with satin black engine covers and a satin finish to all carbon fibre parts. MSO 650S Coupe Concept stands on satin black finished lightweight ‘650S’ alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres in the appropriate dimensions.

Inside, one can see again an extensive utilization of carbon fiber. Interior enhancements include fixed-back carbon fibre racing seats finished in carbon black leather, switchgear and bezels are finished in contrasting gloss black.

McLaren MSO 650S Coupe Concept is a one-off design study. Production is still in consideration.
