Since 2011 Mercedes Benz installs the new generation of biturbo engines in more and more 500 models.
These are more fuel efficient and more powerful than the previous naturally aspirated engines.
Representative for the identically powered models CLS 500, S 500, CL 500, SL 500, ML 500 and GL 500, the company VÄTH has subjected the current E 500 biturbo to an performance upgrade, which competes with a
E 63 with a naturally aspirated engine. The professionals from Hoesbach have really put some beef in the currently exciting E-Class: Genes from the racing sport were practically implanted in the E 500 biturbo through V50S. The optimization of the engine electronics compromises the individual fine tuning including the increased Vmax, the Väth charge air cooling system and the also in-house rear silencer system. With 381 kW / 520 hp and maximum torque of 810 Nm from 4,633 cc, the E 500 biturbo is no way inferior even to an AMG after his power upgrade, though he has less thirst in contrast to an old E 63 AMG for example. From the standing position, the 100 km/h are reached in 4.5 seconds (with appropriate tire approval!) and a maximum speed of 300 km/h is possible.
At this point it must be mentioned, that fuel, engine and transmission oil are cooled specifically. Simultaneously, the high-performance brake system is optimized appropriately on the front axle with 390 mm brake discs, potted for 6 piston calipers, including brake linings, racing brake fluid and steelflex brake hoses.
The three-piece forged wheels by VÄTH in 9×20 inch with tires in the dimension 245/30-20 at the front axle and 10.5 x 20 inch with 285/25-20 at the rear stand perfect in the body. In this context it must be said about the modified sports suspension (well known at Mercedes as the Airmatic), that it is pleasantly comfortable in the first damper stage and sporty-hard in the second damper stage, that achieves a further improved cornering performance. The front spoiler, made of high quality carbon fibre, and the radiator grille without the star achieve in addition to the nobler appearance also improved aerodynamics, just as the carbon fibre rear diffusor with fins and larger underbody, as well as the trunk spoiler lip, also in carbon fibre.
In the interior there is a sport steering wheel in leather/leather design, also available on demand with carbon or woodwork, and the VÄTH speedometer extension to 360 km/h. The total cost for this modification amounts to 32.250 euros plus VAT.
