2014 Mazda CX-5 Gets Upgraded

2014 Mazda CX-5 is one of the most competitive vehicles in its class. For the MY2014, the Japanese manufacturer is introducing an upgraded version of its compact SUV. The updated model will incorporate the innovative fuel-saving SKYACTIV technology. 

Furthermore, there are two new exterior colours being offered – Blue Reflex Mica and Deep Crystal Blue Mica. In addition, in terms of exterior, the SUV will be equipped with revised suspension featuring re-tuned dampers, bushes and stabilisers which improve driving dynamics by delivering increased ride comfort and reduced noise, vibration and harshness. 

Mazda CX-5 delivers up to 175 hp (128 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque, and 0- 100 km/h acceleration of 8.8 seconds. The fuel economy is rated at 61.4mpg, while the emissions – at 119g/km. 

New for 2014 is the new clutch restart system fitted on manual transmission Mazda CX-5 models. It allows engine restart by depressing the clutch (within three seconds of stalling), without the need to use the engine start/stop button. Automatic transmission models now have a straight-shift gate. 

The SE-L Lux and Sport trims are fitted with additional upgrades such as memory function for the powered driver’s seat and a 6-way powered passenger seat as standard. Full leather trim comes in Black as a standard, while the Light Stone leather is an available option. 

At last, customers can choose from 165 hp petrol or 150/175 hp diesel units, six-speed manual or automatic transmissions, three specification levels (SE-L, SE-L Lux and Sport, with or without Nav) and 2-wheel drive (2WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).
