2015 Nissan Murano was unveiled ahead of its world debut at the New York International Auto Show. The official reveal will happen tomorrow at a press conference at New York’s Jacob Javits Center. The dramatic new Murano will be on public display from Friday. The third-generation Murano has concept car-like styling, premium interior and features advanced, purposeful technology. This vehicle is the halo vehicle for Nissan’s expanding range of crossovers and SUVs.
As a matter of fact, the latest Murano also expresses a new brand’s new design direction. This is visible through the V-motion front end, LED boomerang lights and the unique “floating” roof. The innovative exterior design continues to the interior, which offers an engaging social lounge feel through features such as the refined lower-height instrument panel, wide center console, advanced NASA-inspired Zero Gravity front and outboard rear seating, and the airy atmosphere created by the large windows and oversized Power Panoramic Moonroof.
Furthermore, the SUV features technologies such as NissanConnectSM with Navigation and Mobile Apps, 8-inch color display with multi-touch control, 11-speaker Bose premium audio system, and Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System.
The model is driven by the standard 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine, which is connected to an advanced Xtronic transmission. In addition, Murano is also available in front-wheel drive or Intuitive All-Wheel Drive.
Available and standard safety and security systems include Moving Object Detection (MOD), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) and Forward Emergency Braking. What is more, the new Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) system uses radar to detect a moving vehicle behind the Murano approaching from either side of the parking space.
2015 Nissan Murano will be offered in four trim levels: S, SV, SL and Platinum. It will go on sale by the end of the year.
