A powerful and economical new turbocharged petrol engine is now available to Infiniti Q50 drivers, as the Japanese luxury automotive manufacturer further expands powertrain options for their premium sports sedan. The modern, lightweight 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine develops 208hp and 258lb/ft (350Nm) of torque, sending drive to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission. Flexible and efficient driving is assisted by an early useable torque delivery that begins at just 1250rpm.
The supercharger technology of the four-cylinder petrol engine delivers sustained acceleration and outstanding responsiveness, while the differentiated drive mode options – in conjunction with its high performance output – ensure exceptional handling control and a thrilling driving experience, achieving a combined fuel consumption of only 6.3 l/100 km
Manufactured with the latest fuel efficient, Euro 5 certified technology and tuned by Infiniti engineers for an engaging throttle response, the 2.0-litre direct injection petrol engine joins a new 2.2-litre direct injection turbo-diesel engine, and the celebrated high-performance V-configuration hybrid powertrain.
The 1991cc petrol engine, revealed in Europe at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March and already launched in China, will make its sales debut in Europe in autumn before rolling out to the rest of Infiniti’s global markets before year end.
Over the next five years, Infiniti will increase its model range by 60 per cent and more than double the number of its powertrains.
