LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company), manufacturer of the iconic black London cab, introduces the TX Access. Taking advantage of TX’s class-leading interior space, TX Access boasts unparalleled accessibility, making it ideally suited to a number of new sectors, such as educational and healthcare settings.
The vehicle sets the standard in inclusive transportation, providing ample space for wheelchair users and can accommodate up to six passengers. TX Access is fully wheelchair accessible and features a direct access ramp that folds away into the floorspace, offering swift deployment and adjustability.
The interior of the TX Access is large enough to effortlessly rotate a wheelchair into a forward-facing position. Compliant with ISO 10542 standards, the comprehensive restraint system allows wheelchair users to remain securely seated throughout the journey. The completely flat floor, covered in slip-resistant material, ensures stability and safety.
Furthermore, TX Access incorporates an innovative swivel seat that pivots outside the vehicle, facilitating hassle-free access, as well as a large door aperture offering easy entry for wheelchair users. The vehicle also comes with high-visibility contrasting grab handles (optional) and seat edges. It also features a wide range of communication options, such as hearing induction loop, braille embossed controls, and microphone system, enabling seamless contact between passengers and driver.
Alex Nan, CEO of LEVC, comments: “The TX Access reaffirms the company’s commitment to transforming urban transportation and providing inclusive mobility solutions. By taking advantage of the class-leading TX platform, we are able to support a whole new market of passengers. LEVC is proud to contribute to a sustainable future where transportation is accessible to all.”
With its iconic turning circle, front and rear distance sensors, rear-facing camera, and driver assistance features, the TX Access ensures safe operation and manoeuvrability, even in tight urban environments.
At the heart of the vehicle, lies LEVC’s revolutionary eCity drivetrain, delivering zero-emission transportation without the concerns of range anxiety. Its unmatched flexibility, combines petrol and an electric motor, providing a total range of 333 miles, with a pure EV range of 78 miles and emitting just 14g/km of CO2. LEVC’s eCity technology not only reduces operating costs for organisations, but also helps businesses to meet their green targets.
LEVC manufactures the purpose-built, range-extended electric TX at its state-of-the-art facility in Ansty, Coventry. With an investment of over £500m from the Geely Holding Group since 2014, LEVC has built the UK’s first dedicated manufacturing plant for electric vehicles.
