PEUGEOT is supplying 25 e-2008s to Furniture Village, Britain’s largest independent furniture retailer, which is adopting a fully electric fleet.
The PEUGEOT e-2008 was chosen because of its ideal size and electric range, with the benefit of a raised seating position helping to inspire confidence on the road. Furniture Village was also impressed by the e-2008’s comprehensive specification and competitive finance offers. The vehicles will be used by a mix of field managers and store managers as they travel between Furniture Village’s various UK locations, as well as used to visit customer homes.
All 25 models ordered are in Allure Premium trim, which includes 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and a gloss black finish for the rear bumper and roof rails. Inside, the cars are equipped with the PEUGEOT 3D i-Cockpit®, featuring a configurable 3D head-up digital instrument panel, compact multi-function steering wheel and 7-inch high definition capacitive colour touchscreen. Additional features for enhanced safety and convenience include a 180-degree colour reversing camera and Active Safety Brake with night function and cyclist and pedestrian detection.
The PEUGEOT e-2008 is powered by a 50kWh battery connected to a 136hp electric motor, allowing it to travel up to 214 miles on a single charge (WLTP). With zero tailpipe emissions, the e-2008 achieves a 2% Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) rate (2022/23), making it ideal for fleets and business users.
Furniture Village is currently installing EV charge points at all of its stores and fulfilment centres across the UK. The PEUGEOT e-2008 offers a range of charging options, including 100kW rapid charging capability, allowing a 0-80% charge to be completed in just 30 minutes.
Julie David, Managing Director, PEUGEOT, UK, said: “We’re thrilled that Furniture Village has chosen the e-2008 as the car with which to move to a fully electric fleet – it’s great to see companies like this leading the way in the transition to electrification. The e-2008 is a fantastic choice for both first-time electric users and those familiar with the technology, combining an alluring design with an impressive range and ease of use thanks to PEUGEOT’s i-Cockpit® technology.”
Charlie Harrison, Commercial Director, Furniture Village, said: “The PEUGEOT e-2008 is the ideal car for us as we make the important decision to adopt a fully electric fleet – one of the steps we’re taking as a business to become more environmentally friendly. With its range of over 200 miles and rapid charging capability, the e-2008 is well-suited to the needs of our employees as they travel to and from our 54 stores and 12 fulfilment centres nationwide and customers’ homes.”
The e-2008 forms part of PEUGEOT’s electrification strategy, which will see the brand provide electrified variants of each model in its range by 2024.
