This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will see the new Alfa Romeo Tonale make its dynamic UK debut as it tackles the famous Hillclimb. On the Saturday, Tonale will complete the 1.16-mile Hillclimb with Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN driver, Zhou Guanyu, at the wheel. Alfa Romeo will also showcase the new Giulia and Stelvio ESTREMA models, which are targeted at driving purists.
The Tonale launches Alfa Romeo into a new electrified era, while maintaining its DNA of Italian sportiness and beauty. Designed to blend state of the art-electrification and technology with trademark style, the Tonale is the first mid-sized SUV from the Italian brand.
Taking the wheel of the Tonale on Saturday will be Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN driver Zhou Guanyu. Following his great start to his first season in F1, including a point on his debut race and his highest points finish to date in Canada last weekend, Zhou will be meeting Formula 1 fans and signing autographs on the Alfa Romeo stand at 13:50 before taking the Tonale for its final run of the day.
The ESTREMA special series will also make its UK debuts at the festival with visitors able to get a first look at the cars on the Alfa Romeo stand. Designed for driving purists, with dynamic dampers and a rear limited-slip differential as standard, the ESTREMA special series is available on both the Giulia saloon and Stelvio SUV.
Fans will be able to get up close to the New Tonale and Giulia and Stelvio ESTREMA models on the Alfa Romeo stand throughout the weekend. They can also witness the UK dynamic debut of the new Tonale as it cements its sporting credentials taking to the hill from the ‘First Glance’ paddock where it will be based over the weekend.
The new Alfa Romeo Tonale
The new Tonale is the most advanced Alfa Romeo ever, including Amazon connectivity and a brand-new, customisable infotainment system with 4G connectivity and Over The Air (OTA) updates. The system comprises a 12.3-inch digital screen and a 10.25-inch main touchscreen which, with a total size of 22.5-inches, the largest in the segment.
The Tonale is the first vehicle ever to come equipped with a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) digital certificate. Designed to be able to record the full history of the car throughout its lifetime, the NFT can be used to demonstrate the maintenance record of the car and support its residual value.
Equipped with a 160hp hybrid-electric engine, the Alfa Romeo Tonale is available in a choice of Ti or Veloce trim. An exclusive ‘EDIZIONE SPECIALE’ launch version will also be available. UK customers will be able to pre-order the new Tonale later this summer. Before the end of the year it will also be joined by a 275hp plug-in hybrid version with Q4 all-wheel drive.
ESTREMA special editions
