Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe 2.0-litre 25th Anniversary Limited Edition

Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe 2.0-litre 25th Anniversary Limited Edition is currently in preparation to go on sale from 1st of August. The car features bespoke interior and exterior design, with Limited Edition numbered external badging. Mazda has announced that only 1000 examples will be ever produced. With this limited edition vehicle, the company is celebrating the 25th birthday of its iconic two-seat sportscar – the MX-5 Roadster. The anniversary car will be unveiled officially at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. 

MX-5 was firstly introduced on February 9th at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show. In the early 70s the vehicle had become all but extinct and was an instant hit on a global scale. When the total production reached 531,890 units in May 2000, the little Mazda was certified by Guinness World Records as the world’s best-selling two-seater sports car in history. In 2011 the global production passed the 900,000 units and Mazda MX-5’s Guinness certification was updated.

MX-5 Roadster Coupe 2.0-litre 25th Anniversary is powered by a 2.0-litre, 160 hp powerplant coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car achieves sub-8 second 0-62 mph acceleration and has a 136mph top speed. In addition, it also boasts a perfect 50:50 weight distribution and a low moment of inertia for great agility and driving enjoyment. 

This limited edition is base don the Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe 2.0 litre Sport Tech Nav, however it boasts a wide range of additional exterior and interior features unavailable on any other Mazda MX-5. 

The Soul Red Metallic paint finish is unique for the model and is complemented by Brilliant Black door mirrors, A-pillars and power-operated retractable hardtop roof. The car runs on 17-inch Dark Gunmetal alloy wheels, and is also equipped with a rear diffuser and chrome exhaust trim. 

Inside, there is Light Stone leather trimmed upholstery which incorporates contrasting red stitching to the seats, steering wheel, gearshift and handbrake lever. The 25th Anniversary logo-is embossed headrests. The unique design is completed by a bespoke, hand-painted Dark Red dashboard decoration panel, Brilliant Black roll-over bar covers, alloy pedal set and 25th Anniversary stainless steel scuff plates. 

Furthermore, Mazda has also added a 6.1-inch touch screen Mazda Navigation System, which features 46 European country maps, 29 different languages, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, an integrated CD, radio and DVD player with a 50:50 split screen and customisable user profile settings for each driver.
