Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced pricing for the 2013 Beetle Fender® Edition, a special edition of the popular coupe that marries iconic names from music and motoring. The Beetle Fender® Edition is available with two powertrains: the 170-horsepower 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission; and the turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI® four-cylinder engine that’s paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed DSG® dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The 2.5L Beetle Fender® Edition includes all the features found on the 2.5L Beetle with Sunroof model, while the 2.0T Beetle Fender® Edition takes the Beetle Turbo with Sunroof and Sound as its starting point. Both vehicles offer a great value, with the 2.5L priced at $24,440 with the manual transmission and $25,540 with the automatic. The Turbo models start at $28,130 for the manual version and $29,200 for the DSG-equipped model. All prices exclude destination charges of $795 per vehicle.
The Beetle Fender® Edition is unique inside and out. From the outside, the car is distinguished by Deep Black Pearl Metallic paint, brushed chrome mirrors, Fender badging on the sides of the car, 18-inch “Disc” aluminum-alloy wheels, and Bi-Xenon headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights. Inside, there’s a striking dashboard that incorporates the Fender badge and was inspired by the iconic Fender sunburst design. The Turbo models also have sport seats upholstered in V-Tex leatherette with unique cloth inserts.
And, of course, the Beetle Fender® Edition features the high-performance, award-winning Fender Premium Audio System. The concert-quality audio is the result of proprietary Panasonic® speaker technology, which cuts through noise, and dual-voice coil speakers that faithfully reproduce the sound of a live performance. The sound system consists of a 10-channel amplifier that provides a whopping 400 watts of system power to four Fender Deluxe™ tweeters, two Fender Twin™ speakers, two Fender rear speakers, and one Fender Bassman™ subwoofer.
The 2013 Beetle Fender Edition models will be in dealerships at the beginning of November.
