The CUPRA Formentor has been named SUV Car of the Year at the Company Car & Van Awards 2022.
The winner of the SUV Car of the Year category was determined by a panel of esteemed judges, with Formentor coming out on top within the ultra-competitive segment.
The Formentor was the first car developed exclusively by the CUPRA brand, and embodies everything that CUPRA stands for: sophistication, innovation and a dynamic driving experience.
The CUPRA Formentor is available with seven different powertrains, ranging from the 1.5-litre TSI EVO 150PS, through to the 2.0-litre TSI 4Drive DSG-auto 310PS. It is available as a 1.4-litre e-HYBRID (either 204PS or 245PS) PHEV, offering up to 37 miles (WLTP) of electric-only range.
For fleets and company car users, the Formentor e-HYBRID delivers a competitive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) thanks to strong residual values and a highly efficient powertrain which returns up to 235.4 mpg (WLTP). Formentor e-HYBRID also benefits from a Benefit in Kind (BiK) rating of just 11 per cent (2021/22).
As standard, Formentor includes a host of the latest technology and safety features, including a digital cockpit, 12” infotainment screen with smartphone integration and CUPRA Connect, three-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, LED headlights, Predictive and Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist. It was also awarded a five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP.
Andrew Walker, Editor of Company Car & Van, said:“The CUPRA Formentor is an excellent addition to the burgeoning SUV company car sector. It’s different too, which has to be a good thing. We found that it works well as a family car, whilst offering the driver a chance to indulge in bit of CUPRA fun. The CUPRA brand now has a unique model, plus there’s fleet-friendly plug-in version to save you money.”
Company Car & Van was launched in 2010 and is specifically aimed at SME fleets. The SUV Car of the Year award is a continuation of CUPRA Formentor’s award success, adding to the accolades the premium-performance SUV achieved in 2021.
