Citroën has continued its collaboration with leading lifestyle magazine ELLE, adding an exciting new C3 ELLE trim to its supermini range. This latest model follows on from an initial collaboration between the two brands in 2018, which saw the introduction of a C3 edition that saw over 9,000 sales worldwide. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Citroën C3 is off to a great start in 2022 with 49,000 sales worldwide at the end of March, achieving third place in its segment in Europe.
The collaboration between the two iconic French brands stems from a common understanding of female fashion, well-being and societal issues. The design of C3 ELLE for 2022 is inspired by trends popular with C3 buyers, including the need for a wide range of customisation options, practical onboard technologies and benchmark in-car comfort.
New Citroën C3 ELLE has a two-tone exterior as standard, with a choice of two roof colours – white or black – referencing the colours of the ELLE logo. The model is available with a choice of five body colours too: Soft Sand, Polar White, Cumulus Grey, Platinum Grey or Perla Nera Black.
Buyers will also enjoy a new Matt Silver Blue Colour Pack – with a deep glacier blue tone and a metallic sheen. This new Colour Pack offers a fresh look and a sense of modernity that goes perfectly with the available body colours.
To make its mark, the new model also features the ELLE brand signature – ‘Since 1945 & forever’ – across various elements of the vehicle, both inside and out. The ELLE ribbon in black and white – a winning and timeless combination in the world of fashion – is paired with a strong typeface that is designed to stand out. The distinctive C3 roof capsule features the ribbon and its slogan, whilst the quarter-panel decoration again features the black ribbon background, this time imprinted with the ELLE monogram in the brand’s emblematic style.
The customisation continues in the passenger compartment, with an ambience befitting the new Matt Silver Blue Colour Pack. The main upholstery adorning the two-tone Advanced Comfort seats is ‘Light Prussian Grey’ fabric that brightens the interior, while selected elements are finished in a dark ‘Wind Grey Alcantara’. A screen-printed decorative strip, featuring a reinterpreted chevron pattern, offers bluish satin highlights to the upper part of the backrests.
For the first time, Alcantara – generally offered on premium models – appears on the C3 ELLE dashboard trim, whilst another thoughtful little detail is the double vertical stitching, a discreet and chic feature on the Alcantara. Continuing the theme inside, the ELLE monogram appears in full on the floor mats, with a black ribbon featuring the white slogan.
Citroën C3 ELLE boasts a reversing camera and – perfect for the C3 ELLE look – 17-inch’Vector’ diamond-cut alloy wheels, dark-tinted rear windows, a chrome surround around the digital instrument panel and a leather steering wheel, all of which are specified as standard.
Sandrine Gay, Director of the ELLE Licence Collection, said: “For 77 years, the ELLE brand has always been by women’s side, supporting them in every area of their lives by offering an exclusive and unparalleled approach to fashion, beauty, culture and lifestyle. This partnership is part of a philosophy shared with Citroën, of promoting all women and their elegance, in their habits and their daily lives.”
Muriel Prodault, Head of Colours and Materials at Citroën said: “ELLE and Citroën have once again created a modern combination with plenty of style for C3. The pastel blue of the new Matt Silver Blue Colour Pack adorning C3 ELLE both outside and inside embodies the gentle renewal of spring. This colour is totally in keeping with the current trend, particularly in ready-to-wear fashion. Its metallic highlights in the passenger compartment bring freshness and light, contrasting with the Alcantara of the seats and the dashboard, the leather steering wheel and tinted windows, recreating a cosy feeling in the passenger compartment to feel as comfortable as in your living room.”
New Citroën C3 ELLE is powered either by a 1.2-litre PureTech 83 petrol engine with a six-speed manual gearbox or by a 1.2-litre PureTech 110 petrol mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The PureTech 83 manual is priced at £18,150 MRRP OTR, whilst the PureTech 110 automatic is just £20,760 MRRP OTR.
New Citroën C3 ELLE is available to order in the UK from today (Wednesday 18 May) and will arrive at Citroën retailers across the UK during August 2022.
