Chauffeur company Tristar Worldwide has taken delivery of three Volvo V60 plug-in hybrids to trial as part of the Energy Saving Trust’s Plugged-In Fleet Initiative (PIFI).
The vehicles will be with Tristar for six to eight months covering over 20,000 miles each. Initially placed with key decision makers at Tristar, the vehicles will then be rolled out to chauffeurs to fully assess the operational benefits of a Plug-in Hybrid.
Doug Speck, Volvo Cars‘ senior vice president marketing, sales and customer service, made the announcement at the New York International Auto Show, indicating the new V60 will come to the U.S. market in early 2014. Pricing and specifications will be announced at a later date.
The V60 R-Design on the auto show stand marks the global debut of the R-Design version of the car. It projects an elegant, curvy and sculptured appearance that equally straddles luxury and performance.
