 In cooperation with the aerodynamic specialists of Prior-Design, the company Famous Parts of Ratingen close to Düsseldorf has developed this Audi R8 wide body at customer’s request. While Prior-Design supplied all parts of the coveted GT-850 body kit, the technicians of Famous Parts took care of the proper installation of all parts as well as the remaining conversion works.

Audi presents the R8 in September 2006, the first mid-engined sports car, which is approved as a production vehicle for the road. With the mounting position of the engine in the all-aluminum body a weight distribution of 44 to 56 percent between the front and rear axle shall be achieved. The prototype, from which the name R8 originates and with which Audi won at Le Mans five times, and the production car are however worlds apart.

Exactly this R8 Coupé, an already quite polarizing sports car of superlatives, has been subjected to an almost miraculous metamorphosis by the firm REGULA Tuning from Schwerte. A made of aramid (aromatic polyamide) body kit brings the R8 even closer to the perfect race machine with road approval. As with all products from the pen of REGULA tuning, unlimited robustness and absolute accuracy have the first priority. The use of raw materials with only the highest quality and permanent quality controls ensure the high standard of product flexibility with also an extremely smooth surface, which in turn helps to reduce the painting costs.

Due to the TÜV-certified quality management system, all REGULA-Tuning mounting parts have the TÜV-technical report and can therefore easily be registered with each examiner. The body kit costs 7,698 euros and is available for the presented here V10 version, as well as for the models V8 Spyder (from May 2010) and Coupé. The central air inlet and the two lateral “fellows” under the headlights look as if they want to absorb everything that faces them in their way…
But getting back to the feast for the eyes. Also, the wheel and tire combination could not be better chosen: 20 inch Oxigin wheels model Oxrock with a width of 8.5 inches at the front and 11 inches at the rear and tires of adequate size in the dimensions of 235/30 R20 at the front and 295/25 R20 at the rear.

The Audi R8 V10 has already significant 525 hp as the series performance. REGULA Tuning is now offering a chiptuning for 1.398 €, then there would be available a performance of 560 hp.

Building on the award-winning R8 V8 and R8 V10 Coupes, the Exclusive Selection Editions will arrive in limited volume later this month. Only twenty 2012 Exclusive Selection Edition R8 V8 vehicles and thirty 2012 Exclusive Selection Edition R8 V10 vehicles will be produced.

The 2012 Exclusive Selection Edition R8 V8 commands immediate attention with new exterior colors and stunning exclusive interior finishes. For the first time, Audi debuts a Daytona Gray matte exterior for the 2012 Exclusive Selection Edition R8 V8, complete with carbon fiber exterior splitter and diffuser, 19″ titanium five-arm double spoke wheels, black grille surround, black exhaust finishers, R8 GT tail lamps, and red brake calipers. Inside, the R8 V8 features an exclusive leather package with Crimson Red elements and contrast stitching, exclusive leather Navigation surround, and a thicker contoured leather multifunctional steering wheel for a sportier grip. The 2012 Exclusive Selection Edition R8 V8 is equipped with a 4.2-liter FSI® V8 which generates 430 hp at 7,900 rpm, with 316 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 – 6,000 rpm.

The R8 e-tron has two electric motors that produce 313 PS (230 kW) and 820 Nm (605 lb-ft) of torque. They are powered by a 49 kWh lithium-ion battery which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, hit a limited top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph) and travel up to 215 km (134 miles) on a single charge.

Audi has made its R8 high-performance sports car even more attractive and dynamic. The R8 V10 plus is a new top model in the model series, with a totally new 7-speed S tronic. The LED headlights and the new rear indicator lights with dynamicized display are standard equipment on all variants.

4.44 meters (14.44 ft) long, 1.90 meters (6.23 ft) wide and only 1.25 (4.10 ft) meters high (Spyder: 1.24 meters (4.07 ft)) – the broad Audi R8, developed and built by quattro GmbH, stands firmly on the road, ready to pounce. New details lend its design even more acuity. The single-frame grille with the beveled upper corners is painted high-gloss black, with horizontal chrome inserts adorning the struts on the V10 variants. The bumper is also new, with the air inlets bearing three crossbars each. As an option, Audi installs a front splitter made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The splitter is standard on the new R8 V10 plus.

The Bavarian mid-engine sports car is named after the Le Mans prototype Audi R8. It is produced by Quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm since 2006. The first study of a Le Mans Quattro dates back to 2003.

Racing one, motor sports service provider and event organizer from Rhineland, has helped an Audi R8 V10 – the stock version is certainly not insufficiently motorized – gaining a total of about 610 horse powers through discreet changes in hardware as well as systematic adjustment of the engine mapping. An exhaust system made of titanium, naturally flip-controlled by Akrapovic plays the role of communication with the outside world.
