Kia has just unveiled its 2014 Optima Hybrid mid-size sedan at the Chicago Auto Show. The eco-friendly vehicle is built upon its gas-powered sibling, but includes its own enhancements such as unique front and rear fascia, new wheel designs, grille and lighting elements.
The model will be offered in LX and EX trim levels. 2014 Kia Optima Hybrid features 47 HP electric traction motor, a strong Hybrid Starter Generator (HSG) and a powerful 47 kW lithium polymer battery. The combined gas-electric power is rated at 199 hp (146 kW) and combined 318 Nm (235 lb.-ft.) of torque remain. The resul is the following: LX trim level achieves an EPA estimated 36 mpg city, 40 mpg highway and 38 mpg combined, while the EX delivers an EPA estimated 35/39/371 respecitvely.
Kia Motors America (KMA) has launched a new national advertising campaign for Hispanic audiences to coincide with this month’s arrival of the redesigned and U.S.-built 2014 Kia Optima midsize sedan in showrooms nationwide. The light-hearted 30-second spots highlight the Optima’s easy-to-use technology features, turbocharged performance and redesigned front and rear fascias – which stay true to the award-winning original design while introducing several new styling cues – as well as the optional SXL trim which offers premium amenities such as Nappa leather trimmed seats and 18-inch chrome wheels.
Kia Motors America (KMA) has teamed up with DC Entertainment and Super Street magazine to create a head-turning Optima Hybrid inspired by Superman’s strength and unwavering care for planet Earth. Unveiled today at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, this Optima Hybrid signals the continuation of a 10-month, eight vehicle partnership between Kia and DC Entertainment based on the iconic characters that make up the Justice League – Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg.
