Stuttgart – Is it possible that the Mercedes-Benz G-Class will still be around in 2025? A cool design study from Mercedes-Benz demonstrates how the genes of the classic off-roader from 1979 may still assert themselves in the far future. It is based on the concept of a future police car developed for the Los Angeles Design Challenge.

Law enforcement will have to prepare for even more crowded roads with electronically monitored and guided traffic, a much larger population and changes in human behaviour. People will feel young and active until even later in life. Outdoor activities will dominate leisure, the desire for freedom and adventure. The new times will also call for new police vehicles. They must be able to reach any place conceivable quickly and reliably – even far away from any pavement. As an environmentally friendly SUV, the Ener-G-Force, which Mercedes-Benz is presenting in Los Angeles as a design study, meets these requirements and would be fully capable of supporting police and emergency services in every corner of the world. World premiere for the new SLS AMG GT3 “45th ANNIVERSARY” at the 2012 São Paolo International Motor Show: the exclusively appointed special series is aimed at car collectors with a particular penchant for motor racing. The customer sport racing car is being built by hand in a limited edition of no more than five vehicles in Affalterbach. Record DTM champion and AMG brand ambassador Bernd Schneider is involved hands-on in the production process, installing the AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine in the SLS AMG GT3 “45th ANNIVERSARY” together with an AMG engine fitter.
The exclusive collector’s item is also synonymous with the successful AMG customer sports programme. With a current tally of 36 wins in the 2012 motorsport season and three driver and team titles in the FIA GT3 European Championship, the ADAC GT Masters and the FIA GT1 World Championship to its name, the racing version of the gullwing model from Mercedes-AMG is also an impressive success story in its own right.
“The world premiere of our special “45th ANNIVERSARY” series of the SLS AMG GT3 at the 27th São Paulo International Motor Show in Brazil is a homage to all Brazilian AMG fans. Firstly because the Brazilian market has witnessed rapid growth for AMG high-performance vehicles in the past five years. And secondly because two of our AMG customer teams are putting in a very good showing in the Brazilian GT Championship and have excellent prospects with their three SLS AMG GT3s,” notes Ola Källenius.
In the next few days, the first customers will be taking delivery of the SL 65 AMG worldwide. The exclusive, top-of-the-range V12 Roadster, with a maximum output of 463 kW (630 hp) and maximum torque of 1000 Nm, will also be available for initial test drives. “The combination of exclusive V12 dynamism and refined roadster driving experience is unique. We are convinced that, with the new SL 65 AMG, we are able to offer an incomparably exciting high-
performance vehicle for the small, but loyal community of fans”, according to Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
As an alternative to the classic vehicle delivery method at dealerships and authorised agents of Mercedes-Benz, customers can also take receipt of their SL 65 AMG direct from the AMG Customer Center in Affalterbach. When collecting their vehicle in this way, customers are able to gain an exclusive insight into the world of AMG and also experience the excellent quality of customer care which is typical of AMG: after being welcomed by a personal customer service attendant, and treated to some hospitality in the AMG Private Lounge which was opened in 2011, they are taken on a tour of the plant. This also includes a visit to the AMG Performance Studio, where individual and one-off AMG vehicles are developed and produced by hand in limited numbers. In the AMG engine production facility, AMG customers have the unique opportunity to meet the engineers who have produced the V12 engine used in their SL 65 AMG by hand, in accordance with the traditional philosophy of “one man, one engine”.

These are more fuel efficient and more powerful than the previous naturally aspirated engines.
Representative for the identically powered models CLS 500, S 500, CL 500, SL 500, ML 500 and GL 500, the company VÄTH has subjected the current E 500 biturbo to an performance upgrade, which competes with a
E 63 with a naturally aspirated engine.

Out of the 6.208 cm³ in the company was able to get 515 kW = 702 or 850 Nm torsion torque for 3.6 seconds for the spurt from 0 to 100 km/h and a Vmax of 330 km/h (Attention to tyres operating permit!). With the data on the fuel cooler and the enlarged gear box oil cooler, the car features more helpful tools. To optimize the high performance brake system the car has been equipped with brake discs of more than 405-mm on VA and the extremely robust steel flax lines. The Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Performance is – as by the way everything labeled by AMG – under the guiding principle of handmade engineering art of the extra class. It can produce with 487HP quite easily, the as it has been fully demonstrated by C 204T. But there must be a significant number of pragmatists to whom it is not enough.
