Renault Megane R.S. 275 Trophy-R is the latest limited edition Renault Sport hot hatch. The vehicle comes with wide range of improvements. The Megane RS 275 Trophy is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 275 hp (202 kW) at 5,500RPM and 360Nm (265 lb-ft) of torque at 3,000RPM. The new Akrapovic titanium exhaust system is lighter and thanks to these features, the vehicle is able to cover the distance of 100 km with just 7.5 liters fuel. 

Furthermore, the Megane R.S. 275 Trophy-R comes as a standard with the Cup chassis with limited-slip differential, Öhlins Road&Track dampers and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres that are specifically-adapted to the car. The car has no rear seats, and in the front can be found Recaro Pole Position polycarbonate monocoque seats, equipped with three-point seat belts.

A ‘Record Kit’ comprising of a lithium-ion battery, steel/aluminium brake discs and six-point harness belts with aviation-style buckles is available as an option as an accessory. It also contributes to Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R’s lighter weight – it weighs 101kg less than its predecessor. 

On the outside, the car offers a new two-tone colour scheme, with an Etoilé Black roof mated with a Pearlescent White finish. The Trophy-R branded F1-type front blade, chequered flag graphic at the bottom of the front doors and graphics on the side of the car are all picked out in Vif Red. 

The vehicle runs on 19-inch black or red Speedline wheel rims. In addition, the car benefits from the experience acquired by Renault’s engine and chassis engineers in motorsport – from rallying to Formula 1. It has made a 7m54.36s new record for a rear-wheel drive car round the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife. 

The record set by Megane R.S. Trophy was achieved thanks to the dedication of the teams at Renault Sport Technologies and their partners. Hundreds of hours of prior testing were conducted in France, Spain and Germany. The aim was to optimize the development of this limited-edition model that boasts exceptional on-road dynamics. The new lap record established by Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R underscores once again the knowhow and expertise of the specialists at Renault Sport Technologies. 

Renault Megane R.S. 275 Trophy-R has a starting price of €45,000 and is currently on sale in France.
